The Lean Six Sigma Green Belt training program will prepare Green Belts to play a vital role within the continuous improvement initiative as they learn data collection and analysis. This program provides an excellent review of Lean Six Sigma concepts and tools and has a strong focus on project planning, profitability, process mapping, statistical process control, hypothesis testing, and data collection and analysis.
The new Green Belts will be able to take this knowledge and methodology and apply it to problems they encounter on a daily basis. Part of the course requirements will be the selection of Green Belt projects which will be completed after the course is done. In the completion of the training the Green Belts will:
The content is based upon the ASQ Six Sigma Green Belt body of knowledge used for the ASQ Green Belt certification examination. The training gives the foundation in statistics, process mapping and data collection that is needed to analyze process problems. Specific items that will be covered include:
The training will be structured and presented to follow the Six Sigma DMAIC improvement cycle (Define-Measure-Analyze-Improve-Control). This allows the trainees to understand how to apply the Six Sigma methodology. In addition, Lean tools are presented in the Introduction, Improve, and Control sections and represent approximately 15% of the course material. The course features many hands on exercises so that the trainees can apply their new knowledge. The DMAIC process will be applied to company projects starting with the Day 1 course material (Define). Minitab Statistical Software will be used for analyzing data presented or collected in course exercises. During the training sessions, students will require access to a PC based lap top or desk top computer to be able to use Minitab and complete the exercises. Advent Design will provide the following training materials including:
Students may have a limited amount of reading homework to do between some of the sessions. The course will be conducted by an ASQ certified Six Sigma Black Belt and an instructor with a PhD in Statistics. After the training, Advent Design can provide mentoring support for the new Green Belts if requested.
